Leeds and Liverpool managers Nominated for FIFA men’s coach of the year

 Leeds United's Coach Marcelo Bielsa and Liverpool's Manager Jurgen Klopp have been mentioned on the five-man shortlisted for FIFA men’s coach of the year.

The World football’s organization has released to the public the name of the shortlisted seven individual awards to be presented at The Best FIFA Football Awards on December 17.

Bielsa caught interest to make the inclusion on the five-strong Nominee for Best FIFA Men’s Coach, with the Championship-winning manager named alongside Hansi Flick, Julen Lopetegui, Zinedine Zidane and Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Future England manager Sarina Wiegman was also nominated for the women’s coach award along with Emma Hayes, who has three of her Chelsea players shortlisted for women’s player of the year.


Manchester City’s Ellie Roebuck and Ann-Katrin Berger of Chelsea were nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper, while Alisson Becker is the only Premier League defender to be shortlisted for the men’s equivalent.

Four Liverpool players made it to the list for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award, with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk followed by their new signing Thiago Alcantara.

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne was also nominated alongside players like Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi,  and Neymar.

The Puskas Award for 2020’s best goal featured Tottenham forwarder Son Heung-min’s following a super strike against Burnley last December.

Jordan Flores’ outrageous volley for Dundalk against Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland is also nominated, alongside Sophie Ingle’s effort for Chelsea against Arsenal and a fine goal for Manchester City’s Caroline Weir against Manchester United.
